August is our Birthday Month!

Finally August is here! Gee, soon will be holiday season with the Halloween then the Thanksgiv......ok better not go there. Let's enjoy August for now, when the summer is hot and that it's our BIRTHDAY MONTH too...yay!!!!! This coming August 14th is our 3rd birthday (still small but we are growing) We're so excited and grateful for that wonderful three years of creating handmade cuteness to all of you.

Well as a small company with small of everything (tiny office, limited budget and staff), it's not all easy breezy journey to stand tall to this day. When we first started, we're simply nothing -- we were just another crafters popped up on the internet selling oh that kind of felt stuffies. It's not easy to create a niche to your business when many other bigger, more well-known profiles/companies offer similar things you do. Discouraging, underwhelming, that only our passion can conquer the doubts and we work hard to build our creative products to be different, high quality and to be deemed special by our audiences. Not only that our handmade collection are not mass-produced but we create and handcraft each of our collection from the heart and we listen to what our customers want. Simply stated, we take our creative job personal, not merely business.

Today, we are blessed to have quite many friends who love us, appreciate our work and find our handmade creations as special, extraordinary and truly one-of-kind. It's so rewarding to receive that many feedbacks and emails of how our products bring cheers and joy to their lives, that our heartfelt creations have carved many wonderful gift giving moments as well as brought fun and colors to their home. So so happy to know that and thank you for believing in us! On this day, well, we're still a small creative company we found 3 years ago, still owns that huge obsession of creating wonderful things -- but we're stronger, smarter to do our job better and eager to sew more hapiness for everyone...everywhere...one stitch at a time...

STAY TUNED FOR OUR BIRTHDAY BASH GIVEAWAYS!

Constructing the new working desk

The hardest part making your own custom working desk is to construct the design layout to fit harmoniously in your given space (especially when you're no interior nor furniture designer). Well....so far this is the desk deisgn I can come up with for my new office space and my hubby Jeff builds it for me. All I know, having this desk the way it is would make my work in the future a whole lot easier to navigate and definitely more organized. If only we have more time in the world to complete this new office project...ugh...it'll take awhile for us to finish and paint. Oh wish me luck!

Today is a Gift...

"TODAY IS A GIFT". We found more story to tell about this inspiring quote....
Yes, we decided to create limited edition of "birthday pin" to celebrate our upcoming Gifts Define's 3rd birthday on Aug 14th. As you could see from my post earlier, the pin will feature the new mascot I designed for our new website as well as our favorite quote

****
More on TODAY IS A GIFT....
"today is a gift" quote meant more than just a word for us. It gives us such an inspiration, appreciation and celebration of what we do: "Creating wonderful things to make people happy".

The more complete sentence of the quote says:
"Yesterday is History, Tomorrow a Mystery, Today is a Gift, That's why it is called the Present" As most of you have noticed, Master Oogway in KungFu Panda Movies had made this quote popular when he mentioned it to Shifu -- and we're just so touched hearing him says this meaningful wisdom. Now, where and by whom this quote is actually from? Well, we found the the best answer as follows:

The full quote often read:
"The clock is running. Make the most of today. Time waits for no man. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift.
That's why it is called the present."In the 1902 book, "Sun Dials and Roses of Yesterday: Garden Delights..." by Alice Morse Earle, it is noted that the words "Time Waits for No Man" is a play on words or punning device of "gnomon" that has been used on sun dials. A gnomon is a pointer on a sun dial. Somewhere along the way came the full quote which has been truncated by some to the abbreviated version.
Many believe the phrase has its root in "Time and Tide wait for No Man" meaning no one is so powerful that he can stop the march of time. According to "The Phrase Finder":The origin is uncertain, although it's clear that the phrase is ancient and that it predates modern English.

The earliest known record is from St. Marher, 1225:"And te tide and te time þat tu iboren were, schal beon iblescet."A version in modern English -- "the tide abides for, tarrieth for no man, stays no man, tide nor time tarrieth no man" evolved into the present day version.

Nowhere is this sentiment more artfully expressed than in Emily Dickinson's poem #1292, "Yesterday is History." Yesterday is History,'tis so far away --yesterday is Poetry,'tis Philosophy --Yesterday is Mystery --Where it is today --While we shrewdly speculate -- Flutter both away

So beautiful.....
